Key Developmental Experiences
Primary 1:
P1 Drama Integration Programme
The P1 Drama Integration Programme is a ten-week interactive course designed to deepen students’ comprehension and strengthen vocabulary retention, as well as develop students’ communication and confidence in public speaking.
Celebration of Learning @P1
The Primary 1 Celebration of Learning is a key milestone event held in Term 2 Week 10, replacing the usual Meet-The-Parents session. It provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to celebrate their child’s learning progress and development during the first semester. During the session, parents will view a class performance put up by the students and engage in a guided parent-child reflective interaction facilitated by the Form Teachers. This experience aims to strengthen home-school partnership while encouraging students to reflect on their learning journey with pride and confidence.

Learning Journey to River Wonders
As part of their experiential learning, Primary 1 students will embark on a Learning Journey to River Wonders. Through this visit, students will develop an understanding of river ecosystems and the importance of environmental conservation. They will also gain exposure to biodiversity and learn how living things are connected within aquatic habitats. In addition, students will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of the role of park rangers and how they care for and protect wildlife.
Primary 2
P2 Theatre Experience
The P2 Theatre Experience brings together a drama workshop and performance where students are immersed in a rich learning experience of self-discovery, exploration and critical thinking. This is part of the school’s efforts to empower and develop confident and effective communicators.
Primary 3
I.D.E.A.S. @YCKPS (P3) – ‘The Little Innovator’
The P3 I.D.E.A.S. programme introduces students to the exciting world of Design Thinking through hands-on exploration and creative play. As “The Little Inventor”, students learn that everyday objects are thoughtfully designed to meet people’s needs. Through activities such as redesigning toys, sharing personal experiences and brainstorming innovative ideas, students develop empathy, observation skills and creativity. They are introduced to simple innovation tools such as SCAMPER, prototyping and feedback processes, culminating in the creation and presentation of their own toy inventions. The programme nurtures curiosity, confidence and problem-solving skills while encouraging students to think creatively and purposefully.
Primary 4
Exploratory Learning at the ‘Traffic Games’
The Primary 4 Traffic Games at the Road Safety Park provide students with experiential learning opportunities to understand road safety from multiple perspectives. By role-playing as pedestrians, cyclists, and traffic marshals in a simulated environment, students develop a heightened awareness of road hazards, defensive walking habits, and the importance of traffic rules. This practical engagement empowers students to navigate real-world traffic situations with confidence, cultivating socially responsible and safety-conscious road users.

Dining Etiquette
The Primary 4 Dining Etiquette Programme equips students with essential social skills and table manners that promote confidence, respect and graciousness in social settings. Through experiential learning and guided practice, students learn appropriate dining behaviour, communication skills and cultural etiquette when dining with others.
I.D.E.A.S. @YCKPS (P4) – ‘The School Change-Maker’
The P4 I.D.E.A.S. programme deepens students’ understanding of Design Thinking by encouraging them to innovate for others through collaboration and shared experiences. As “The Change-Maker”, students explore how design can strengthen relationships and improve play experiences for different users. Through empathy-building activities, brainstorming using SCAMPER, rapid prototyping and community feedback, students learn to apply creativity and critical thinking to solve authentic problems. Working in teams, they develop communication, collaboration and innovation skills while designing meaningful products that incorporate both play and learning elements. The programme empowers students to become thoughtful innovators who value diverse perspectives and purposeful design.
