Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
Key Focus
The YCKPS ICT Department harness education technology (EdTech) to enrich learning and teaching. Our focus includes:
-
Digital Literacy & Technological Skills: Nurturing students to become future-ready and responsible digital learners.
-
21st Century Competencies (21CC): Using EdTech tools to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and self-directed learning.
-
Cyber Wellness: Prioritizing the safeguarding of students' well-being in the digital space through positive online behaviour.
-
Innovation through Play: Providing dedicated spaces for purposeful exploration and hands-on creation.
Key Programmes
Our signature programmes are designed to move students from being passive consumers of technology to active and responsible creators:
-
Harnessing EdTech within Curriculum:
Digital tools are thoughtfully integrated into subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Mother Tongue Languages, and the Programme for Active Learning (PAL). Through this integration, students develop essential baseline ICT competencies, digital literacy and technological skills, while also thinking critically, collaborating effectively, and taking ownership of their learning.

Harnessing EdTech beyond Curriculum:
The Code for Fun and AI for Fun programmes, in collaboration with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), introduce students to coding through interactive and hands-on experiences.
The Thinkers’ Lab is a dedicated space that supports programmes and activities designed to enhance students’ learning through design and prototyping, while developing their innovative thinking.

Cyberwellness & Responsible ICT Use:
We place strong emphasis on Cyber Wellness to support students’ well-being in the digital space. Our curriculum helps students harness technology for positive purposes, maintain a respectful online presence, and become safe, responsible users of digital tools. These values are reinforced through engaging assembly talks that relate to real-life online experiences.
